Linear Mixed Model for Genotype Selection of Sorghum Yield

Data analysis using the General linear model assumes factors to be fixed effects, and BLUE method, which is based on their mean performance, appropriate select best performing genotypes. The mixed incorporates random effects that are very important compare a genotype’s performance through BLUP. purpose of this study was identify genotypes provided high grain yield model, BLUP BLUE, determine impact drought sorghum production in Ethiopia. experiment used water availability as treatment, each replication within treatment levels lattice square design for data collection. consisted 14 × experimental units (plots) comprising 196 genotypes, where row represented block receiving phenotypic characteristics were measured study. statistical methods ANOVA sorghum. found influenced by drought, restricted growth due shortage water. implementation irrigation increased from 2.48 3.17 t/ha, indicating difference between treatments (with without irrigation) 0.69 t/ha. compared general investigation revealed more accurate than model. selected with better accuracy. It recommended use yield.
